Buko Pandan Salad:







 Buko Pandan is a unique fruit salad, another traditional dessert dish of the Philippines.

Buko Pandan is a traditional Filipino

dessert mainly made of coconut strings,

tapioca pearls, pandan extract,

evaporated milk, agar-agar and

condensed milk. It is super easy to

make, delicious and refreshing to eat

during a warm weather.I discovered this delicious dessert from my friend Nizlana.I made it many times and created my own version of it Alhamdulillah ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

This is really Awesome when you make for Ifthar.


Ingredients

๐ŸŒท1 packet of Agar-Agar(7g)

๐ŸŒท2 bags shredded young coconut Flesh.( I didn’t use this one )

๐ŸŒท1 cup tapioca pearls

๐ŸŒท1 cup condensed milk

๐ŸŒทSugar as needed

๐ŸŒท1 litre Of Fresh Milk or Evaporated Milk 

๐ŸŒทPinch of Green colouring 

๐ŸŒท1 can cream(optional)

๐ŸŒท1 teaspoon Pandan flavoured essence 


Method:

1️⃣Follow the ingredients to make

Agar-Agar or you can make green jelly.

For those who want to use fresh

pandan leaves, try boiling 3 leaves in

2 cups of water and make the jelly.

2️⃣To make the tapioca pearls, boil 3

cups water,when the water is

boiling, add tapioca pearls and boil

for 15 minutes, making sure to keep

stirring or the tapioca pearls will

stick together. 

3️⃣when the tapioca pearls are cooked,

strain with a mesh strainer.Then Wash it with tap or cold water to prevent them sticking together 

4️⃣If you are not using the Tapiocas immediately,Soak it in water to prevent it from sticking together.

5️⃣ Boil the Milk with the Condensed Milk.After Boiling add Sugar to your taste and add the green colouring.Mix well.

6️⃣In a large bowl add the Prepared Milk,tapioca pearls,shredded young coconut(I didn’t add)

and the Pandan Jelly Cubes.Mix well until everything combined.

7️⃣Refrigerate the buko pandan for at

least 1 hour before serving.




๐ŸŒนIn this recipe, if you cannot find agar-

agar, you can use green gelatin.


๐ŸŒนThe cooking time of tapioca pearls

varies. When using large pearls, it

takes 25-30 minutes to cook and it's

always best to taste it before

draining it to make sure it is

completely cooked through.


๐ŸŒนFor a creamier Buko Pandan, you can

add in cream.


๐ŸŒนYou can make this dessert with sago

pearls too.


๐ŸŒนYou can top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream before serving.(optional)
