Masala Chips:





  • My version of these Kenyan style masala chips takes the ordinary chips to a whole new


Kenyan Masala Chips is an East-African Indian speciality. These Kenyan Masala Potato Chips or Masala Fries are made from Fresh Fried Potatoes or Frozen Potato Chips (French Fries) with a coating of spicy,tomato sauce.The Masala coats the chips perfectly.It’s the best dish to create for those quick lunches.I enjoyed this dish in restaurants when I Lived In Kenya😃

Ingredients: 

🔴500 g Fried Potato Chips (Fresh or Frozen Potato chips)

🔴1 teaspoon Chili Powder 

🔴1 teaspoon Ginger and Garlic Paste

🔴1/2 teaspoons Cumin Powder 

🔴Salt to taste

🔴1 teaspoon Sugar

🔴1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

🔴1 tablespoon Oil

🔴Chopped Coriander leaves 

🔴3-4 tablespoons Tomato Sauce or Tomato Ketchup 

🔴1 Onion Sliced


Method:

1️⃣Add Oil to a deep Pan.

2️⃣Add ginger and garlic paste.Stir fry it until the raw smell goes.

3️⃣Add the Sliced Onions.stir it.

4️⃣Add the Chili Powder,Salt and Cumin Powder,mix well.

5️⃣Add the Sugar and Tomato Sauce.

5️⃣Lastly add the Lemon Juice,Turn the heat to low.

6️⃣ Cook these ingredients until they are well combined and starting to thicken.( add a splash of water if you prefer your chips saucy.)

7️⃣Throw in your chips. Toss them around so that the sauce covers them properly. Turn off the heat .

8️⃣Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

9️⃣Enjoy yummy,Kenyan Masala Chips.


🌹🌹Sometimes I like to add chopped green chillies or red chilli flakes for extra heat. You can adjust according to your taste and preference.

🌹🌹 Masala chips are best served straight away.
