Katta Sambol 


Ingredients:

2 onions, sliced

1–2 tsp chili powder

Salt, to taste

1 tbsp lime juice

1 tomato, cubed

2 green chilies, chopped

A little dhaniya (coriander leaves)

Maldive fish flakes (optional)


Method:

1. Add chili powder, salt, and Maldive fish flakes (if using) to a mortar. Pound well.

2. Add lime juice and mix.

3. Add the sliced onions to the mortar and lightly pound just to crush them a bit.

4. Transfer everything to a bowl. Add the cubed tomatoes, chopped green chilies, and dhaniya.

5. Mix well and serve with pittu, roti, or hoppers.
