Nanakatha (Ghee cookies)

Ingredients: 
500 g flour
400 g sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder 
300 g Ghee
6 Cardamom pods
Almonds or Raisins for decoration ( optional)

Method:
1.Blend the sugar along with the cardamom pods to a fine powder.
2.mix the flour and the baking powder in a bowl.
3.sieve the blended sugar to the flour mixture and combine well.
4.Now add the Ghee little by little ,knead well and make a smooth dough.
5.make small lime size balls and place them on a greased baking tray.place a Raisin or Almond on top of the cookie and press it firmly.
6.Bake at 150c for 15-20 minutes ,when the bottom turns brown remove the cookies from the oven and leave it to cool.
7.Store it in an airtight container.



Tips:


πŸ“ŒThis cookies may look soft when you take out of the oven. But as they cools down they get harder


πŸ“ŒCool them completely before storing them in air tight container.

πŸ“ŒInstead of adding ghee you can add melted butter.

πŸ“ŒIf you like cardamom flavour, skip vanilla and add cardamom powder.

πŸ“ŒYou can add chopped nuts into the mixture too.
