Chicken Dumplings (Chicken Thakkadi)

🌷🌷This is a famous recipe among Sri Lankan muslims.
🌷🌷I cook  this dish in 3 different Methods.this is one Method. 

Chicken Curry Ingredients:
🌹Chicken 1.5 - 2 kg
🌹1 Medium onion
🌹1/2 medium tomato 
🌹2-3 green chillies 
🌹Curry leaves
🌹pandan leaves( Rampe)
🌹2 tablespoons ginger and garlic paste 
🌹1/2 teaspoons Fenugreek seeds
🌹Cinnamon stick small piece 
🌹3-4 Cardamom pods 
🌹 Salt to taste 
🌹2 tablespoons chillie  powder (you can add more if you want spicy)
🌹4tablespoons coriander powder 
🌹1 teaspoon Cummin powder 
🌹1/4 teaspoons turmeric powder 
🌹2 tablespoons oil
🌹3-4 cups thick coconut Milk

Method:
1.Put oil to a  deep pot.
2.add cinnamon ,cardamom,Rampe,ginger and garlic paste,sauté it add the onions chilli powder.
3.Marinte the chicken with all the other ingredients and add it to the oil.stir it.
4.now add more water to cook the chicken .
5.if you want to knead the dumpling dough with the gravy add 2 more additional cups of water.
  1. when the chicken is 75%cooked  drop the rice flour dumplings to it


Dumpling ingredients:
🌹4 cups Rice flour 
🌹1  1/2 cups scraped coconut (optional)
🌹2 onions chopped 
🌹3-4 green chilli chopped (optional)
🌹Curry leaves chopped 
🌹Salt

Method:
  1. Add everything into a bowl add the hot gravy or hot water ( you can add Both)mix the dough . break it into small pieces and roll it like a ball and press with your finger tip and make a dent in the center.
  2. Once the dumplings are done Gently Drop them into the gravy ,(when the chicken is cooked 75%).close the pot with a lid and cook on medium flame so the dumplings

    won’t dissolve in the gravy.
  3. While the dumplings are cooking make sure the dough balls don’t stick to each other while they are still cooking.
  4. Avoid stirring or using a a spoon once you’ve added all the dumplings.shake the pan gently to move them about or gently use a wooden stick to turn it.
  5. The dumplings should be submerged completely in the gravy.
  6. Increase the heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes.
  7. Then add thick coconut milk,let it boil in medium heat then keep it in low flame (close with the lid)for 10 more minutes.
  8. You will notice the dumplings  curry getting thicker with less gravy,
  9. Taste and add salt if necessary.
  10. It tastes Awesome  With an Onion kachumbari.
