Puliyanam:(Rasam With Coconut Milk)







 Puliyanam:

Ingredients :

πŸ“Œ4-5 Shallots or half a Big onion

πŸ“Œ3-4 slices Tomato

πŸ“Œ1/4 teaspoons Turmeric powder 

πŸ“Œ1 teaspoon Pepper corns (add more if you want)

πŸ“ŒSalt 

πŸ“Œ2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 

πŸ“Œ5-6 Garlic Pods (with skin)

πŸ“ŒHandful of Curry leaves

πŸ“Œ2 Cups Thick coconut milk 

πŸ“Œ1 Cup Thin Coconut Milk 


Tempering Ingredients:

πŸ“Œ2 teaspoons Cooking oil 

πŸ“Œ1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds 

πŸ“Œ1/4 Cumin seeds 

πŸ“Œ1-2 dried Red chilli 

πŸ“ŒCoriander leaves - to garnish(optional)


 method:


1️⃣Take a mortar and pestle add shallots,Garlic ,Pepper Corns,Cumin Seeds,Curry  leaves and grind  it well.

2️⃣Add the thick and thin coconut milk and salt,turmeric Powder ,tomatoes to it and keep it aside.

3️⃣Add oil to a pan,when the oil is hot add the mustard seeds and dried red chili .now pour the Coconut milk mixture to it.Boil it on medium flame for 2-3 minutes till raw smell goes off completely.

4️⃣Pour  it to a serving dish and garnish with chopped coriander leaves(optional)


Tips:

πŸ“ŒIf you don’t have pepper corns and cumin seeds you can use the powder .I always do like that.you can grind only th onions,curry leaves and garlic then add the powders to this with the coconut milk.
