Puliyanam:(Rasam With Coconut Milk)
Puliyanam:
Ingredients :
๐4-5 Shallots or half a Big onion
๐3-4 slices Tomato
๐1/4 teaspoons Turmeric powder
๐1 teaspoon Pepper corns (add more if you want)
๐Salt
๐2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
๐5-6 Garlic Pods (with skin)
๐Handful of Curry leaves
๐2 Cups Thick coconut milk
๐1 Cup Thin Coconut Milk
Tempering Ingredients:
๐2 teaspoons Cooking oil
๐1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
๐1/4 Cumin seeds
๐1-2 dried Red chilli
๐Coriander leaves - to garnish(optional)
method:
1️⃣Take a mortar and pestle add shallots,Garlic ,Pepper Corns,Cumin Seeds,Curry leaves and grind it well.
2️⃣Add the thick and thin coconut milk and salt,turmeric Powder ,tomatoes to it and keep it aside.
3️⃣Add oil to a pan,when the oil is hot add the mustard seeds and dried red chili .now pour the Coconut milk mixture to it.Boil it on medium flame for 2-3 minutes till raw smell goes off completely.
4️⃣Pour it to a serving dish and garnish with chopped coriander leaves(optional)
Tips:
๐If you don’t have pepper corns and cumin seeds you can use the powder .I always do like that.you can grind only th onions,curry leaves and garlic then add the powders to this with the coconut milk.
